The Radiant Blockchain Hackathon is a competition where projects will be evaluated based on their technological merits without considering legal viability. Participants in the Hackathon will create software for the purposes of evaluation as part of the competition of the Hackathon. All participants must comply with applicable laws and regulations when releasing any software they develop during the Hackathon.
The Hackathon ideas and developer resources provided by Radiant are for educational and inspirational purposes only. Radiant does not encourage, induce, or sanction the deployment of any applications that violate applicable laws or regulations. Radiant explicitly prohibits the deployment, integration, or use of any such applications (including the code comprising the Radiant blockchain protocol) in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
In addition to this disclaimer, please note that prize eligibility is conditioned upon Radiant's Reward Program Rules. Ensure you are eligible before entering the contest.
Radiant Blockchain Hackathon Participation Agreement.
This Hackathon Participation Agreement ("Agreement") constitutes a legally binding contract between you ("Participant"), your team ("Team", each member also a "Participant"), and Radiant Foundation LLC, as the organizer ("Organizer" or "we"), and applies to your participation in the Radiant Blockchain Hackathon ("Hackathon").
Your Consent to this Agreement
By registering for the Hackathon or submitting a solution for consideration in one or more of the Hackathon tracks, you acknowledge: (i) you will abide by the terms and conditions of this Agreement and any other guidelines or instructions provided to you by Organizer or its representatives in connection with the Hackathon; (ii) you will comply with all applicable laws; and (iii) you agree to be bound by the decisions of the Organizer and its representatives regarding the Hackathon, which decisions are final and binding. This Agreement shall govern in the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency with other documentation or statements related to the Hackathon.
Minimum Age
Participants must be at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is greater.
Eligibility
This Agreement is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Individuals on sanctions lists, or those residing in countries where crypto-assets are banned, are not eligible to participate. You are responsible for ensuring that you are not restricted from participating by your employer or other obligations (e.g., intellectual property restrictions).
Registration for Participation
To register as a Participant, you will need to provide certain information about yourself. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The Organizer reserves the right to end registration or limit participants at its sole discretion.
Team Formation
Teams may consist of up to 5 individuals. All team members must meet the eligibility criteria. Failure to comply may result in team disqualification at the sole discretion of the Organizer. The Organizer will not mediate disputes within teams regarding conduct, contribution, prize sharing, or intellectual property ownership.
Submission
Your team's solution and any related materials will constitute your "Submission." Instructions for submission will be provided. Winning teams may undergo a code review. Submissions must be completed before the end of the Hackathon.
Disqualifications
Submissions may be disqualified if deemed, at Organizer's discretion, to be malicious, inappropriate, infringing on third-party rights, or in violation of laws or this Agreement. Any compromise of Hackathon integrity, such as cheating or hacking, may result in disqualification.
Judging
Submissions will be ranked on criteria including implementation, idea execution, user experience, potential impact on the Radiant ecosystem, and creativity. Judging criteria and scores are at the sole discretion of the project.
Prize Conditions
Prizes will be determined by the Organizer, typically in Radiant tokens (RXD). The Organizer reserves the right to substitute prizes. All taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners must provide their name and physical address before receiving prizes.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from any liability or damages arising from your participation in the Hackathon, including any intellectual property infringement or failure to comply with this Agreement.
Amendments
The Organizer reserves the right to amend this Agreement at its discretion. Continued participation in the Hackathon constitutes agreement to revisions.
Publicity
You agree to allow the Organizer to use your name, logo, and other materials for promotional purposes related to the Hackathon.
Termination
This Agreement may be terminated without cause by either party upon written notice. Contributions made by Participants are non-refundable.
No Agency
You are not authorized to act as an agent of the Organizer, except with explicit written consent.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Texas, USA.
